2000 - 2003 Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry at the University of Florida under the supervision of Prof. Tomas Hudlicky. Research area: Dihydroxylation of aromatic substrates and application of cyclohexadiene diols in the Total Synthesis of Amaryllidaceae alkaloids.
2003 - 2004 Post-doctoral studies at Brock University, St. Catharines, Canada. Research area: Whole-cell oxidation of aromatics with soil bacteria and application of metabolites in the synthesis of indole alkaloids.
2004 - 2006 Post-doctoral studies at the University of Vienna. (Mulzer Research Group). Recipient of the Schrödinger-Rückkehrprogramm of the Austrian Science Fund (FWF). Research area: Total Synthesis of terpenoid natural products.
